The Altzueta Cider House

Although the date of its foundation is not known, there are documents that show that Altzueta cider house was already dedicated to selling natural cider back in 1878 and is today in its 4th family generation.

The building is a Basque farmhouse of the most traditional style that was fully renovated in 1982, it has its own culture of apple trees, which has  increased throughout the years to a total of 2500 trees.

More recent renovations of the facilities were completed in 2004 with the incorporation of new manufacturing and bottling machinery, state of the art stainless steel vats.

Altzueta cider house has three presses: a more ancient mechanic one of good pressuring which is approximately 45 years old and belonged to the owners father, another hydraulic one and a state of the art pneumatic press that has proved invaluable in recent years.
